My sewing skills are below average, but that doesn't stop me from trying!  I am inspired daily to try and make
something myself.  Once tried to make my daughter a skirt-
Big Fail!  I later tried sewing a handbag and I was pleasantly surprised by the results.  So I figured making pillows shouldn't be
that hard.  In the past I've made pillows from cut fabric, pillows from bed sheets and dinner napkins, but never have I thought to use old sweaters!  Apparently I'm the only one since there are tutorials everywhere. Here's a simple
tutorial if you're interested!

Thanks for the comment! Keep at it with your sewing, try a few simple patterns (I think tutorials are better though) and you'll be a pro in no time. :)
ReplyDeleteI love sweater pillows. They are so cozy and inviting. Good job and great way to upcycle (two) things!
ReplyDeleteSewing's only a matter of practice. There's really no big secret. I love the colour of the new cushion.
ReplyDeleteAnd I bet it's so soft and snuggly too!
I did this with a cardigan and the buttons of the cardy doubled up as the opening for the cushion.
I love sweater pillows!! They just make me want to curl up and take a nap on them. :)
