Whenever I'm in Target I like to browse their table linen aisle for fun, new designs. Although their dinner napkins would look great on any table, I thought this pattern would be perfect for a pair of pillows.
These pillows were quick to make. No fabric to cut, I just stitched down each side. Then after stuffing each pillow, I closed the small opening shut using my glue gun for an invisible seam.
For only $9.99 plus the cost of pillow stuffing, this was such an inexpensive way to brighten up my home.
PS. I love the creative way Kara used the napkins to repair her damaged TOMS.

ReplyDeleteNow if only I knew how to use Fred's sewing machine, I'd be set!
m.
My mom would love you. That is such a neat idea that I would never think to do quick and easy.
ReplyDeleteI purchased some napkins to do the exact same thing! Too bad I'm scared to pull out my sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteWhy does such a small thing scare me?!?!
Nice Brandi........I love the choice in fabric/napkin :) have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThose are great~
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to work up the courage to make your rosette pillows and now I have to add these to the list also! Great job!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I walked by those napkins in Target I thought they'd make a great pillow. Great job, they look beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteLove that idea! the best part is that you closed them up by hot glueing them! I usually close them up by hand stitching them, and ouch! that's hard! I'm sure gonna try your easy way! Thanks.

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea and I NEVER think about doing it when I'm out drooling over new napkins (like I was just this weekend!) I have a little 'reminder' sheet that I take with me when I'm shopping to keep me focused - gotta add this idea to the list. Have a great week.
Thanks for sharing, I'm going to Target to check out their napkins.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Target has the best sections of napkins (ever!) In the past, I've used placements to make pillows, so easy and fun!

I have been dying to get some new pillows for my couch and didn't want to spend a fortune. This is a great idea. Now I just need to get myself a sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteHello! I found you via Home to Three Duncan Boys. I've used placemats, and vintage scarves but never napkins thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBrandi, I like the design you chose...you did a great job with your napkin pillows!
ReplyDeleteOkay, the pillows are very cute. BUT the best thing I learned from this post was how to make a seamless edge. I haven't made pillow in years, but I never knew how to close the fourth side. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteVery inventive! I love the fabric patterns.
ReplyDeleteHi, Brandi! I LOVE these! You've just given me a new way to look at napkins! I'm pinning it now and featuring on the Bella Nest Facebook page... so happy to be following Don't Disturb This Groove!

ReplyDeleteThese cushions are great. The print is fabulous - and geometric prints are so popular. What a nifty/cheap creation.
ReplyDeleteHey Brandi- I did the same thing with napkins on my blog! Great minds think alike, eh?
ReplyDeleteYours look awesome. I was trying to make covers for existing pillows and it wasn't as easy to size em up
