I was growing tired of this dark wood console table in my dining room and decided to make some changes. Instead of purchasing something new, I knew I could update it with a fresh coat of paint.
I had a hard time choosing a paint color. I knew I wanted something vibrant that would compliment my golden walls.
My gut said, paint it green! The shade of green I chose is Caper Berry, by Martha Stewart matched to Glidden paint.
I love the new color, it really brightens up the room!
One thing led to another and I replaced the mirror and candle sconces with a new mirror purchased at Home Goods and artwork printed from The Graphics Fairy.
My favorite part of the makeover is the new hardware. They are even more gorgeous in person. I received the new hardware from D. Lawless Hardware. They have a large selection of beautiful hardware at affordable prices.
Here are a few more detail shots of the table just for fun!
I hope I can keep this orchid alive!
I purchased the picture frames on clearance at Target.
I've been searching for a new lamp with no luck. I thought about spray painting the base white, but decided to hold off until I find the perfect one for the table.
Green is such a fun accent color. I'm so happy how the table turned out.
If you like you can see how I used a similar shade in a couple of other rooms in my house here and here.
*A huge thank you to Derrick of D. Lawless Hardware for providing the hardware for this makeover.

ReplyDeleteI love it! What a transformation! The hardware you selected is awesome... a touch of vintage.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome.
Wishing you a lovely day.

You have such a gifted eye for decorating and I see you have a touch of black in the room. My grand mom was an interior decorator; she said a touch of black anchors a room.
ReplyDeleteI cringed when someone mentions they will be painting a stained wood piece as I love that look. BUT after seeing the outcome of each project, my fear of doing that myself is diminishing.
YOUR console table is perfect; the color complements the room with all the added touches. Bravo for a job well done both on that table and the desk where you used the paint on another project. YOUR home is lovely, your family should be so proud of you for creating a place that is so special in many ways.
wow! it's great!
ReplyDeleteI liked it before, but now it fits perfectly I think!
bye bye!

Best Wishes
Daphne

ReplyDeleteAnd for once I can give you some help...orchids thrive on neglect. I never touch mine and htye love outside in the florida heat. No direct sun and spritz of water occasionally. Mine have lived for years and bloom more and more each year.

Wow, I love the color, the green definitely pops better in the room. I also really like the lamp. I think you should try painting it white first. Hey, you could save even more money!

Oh boy, your gut was right! This looks spectacular and so modern and fresh. You still have the nice wood tones in your mirror and frames, though, so the space still looks warm. Just love it!

ReplyDeleteWow everything is soo pretty - and your workmanship is great!
ReplyDeleteI am on the search for a new lamp as well. I actually like the Threshold line at Target, but they are kind of on the expensive side for Target. I'd rather buy one from somewhere else. I'm considering this one from Pottery Barn, the linear one. With a 15% off coupon, it won't cost that much.
