I’ve been on the hunt for a computer chair for our family room for months.
My patience paid off, when I found this banker's chair, at my favorite thrift store a few weeks ago.

I love these chairs from Pottery Barn. They look similar to the chair I found, but at a much bigger price tag- of course!
I was happy to pay the price marked on the sticker.
After a little cleaning and some stain, it’s perfect for our family room.
*I stained the chair without doing anything first. No stripping, no sanding, nothing! Although skipping these steps is not recommended, I had no issues with the surface being sticky. After applying the stain with a rag, I left the chair in the garage overnight to dry. I’m obviously not an expert. My advice is to, "stain at your own risk"!

That is a gorgeous chair Brandi. I cant believe the price. It looks just like the PB chair. Don't you love getting the look for a lot less.
ReplyDeleteThis chair is sensational Brandi :) I hope you come back to my blog and follow me ( You would be my 100th follower ) xx Ava
ReplyDeleteYour computer chair looks awesome! I picked one of these up at the "junque" store after we moved to NH. I've always wanted one. While it's still lovely to look at, it was clearly not made for my backside. haha! I hope yours is more comfortable than mine!
ReplyDeleteIt is official Brandi :) You are a legend !! From here on you are my favourite follower xx Ava
ReplyDeleteVery nice find!!! I love the look!!!
ReplyDelete$19. is a great price! I bought one off of Craigslist a couple of years ago for $40.00. Fred used it but since he is teaching on-line all day, he needed something more modern for his back. So, I sold it on Cragislist for $45.00.
ReplyDeleteWhat else are you looking for? Maybe I'm getting rid of it! m.

Great idea. I have never tried staining, but you made it look easy. Especially since you didn't need to do the stripping and the other recommended stuff. I guess for a little patience and looking around you can end up with a fabulous piece of furniture. I like it!
ReplyDeleteGold! You struck gold!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find, Brandi and for that price!! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteTake care,

ReplyDeleteI love the chair and it looks very much like the PB ones! I love when that happens. You did a great job on it, I do not like stripping and sanding so your method is perfect. :)
