Our weather has been crap lately. Rain then rain; Followed by more rain! Unfortunately, bad weather has discouraged me to complete most of my projects around the house. To regain my lost motivation, I decided to start by giving this lamp a little makeover. We've had it for years and the color was fine, but after painting my computer desk the color of the lamp needed to change as well.
I started by taping off the cord with painters tape, to avoid any spray paint from getting on the cord.Next I took the lamp outside and gave it a few, quick coats of metallic spray paint. The color is champagne mist by, Rust-oleum. I love the color, it's brass without it being too brassy
Ah, much better!
So what do you think? Are you digging the brass, or do you prefer the previous look? I like it and my husband does too, so that's a win in my book!
So glad to see the sunshine today! The lamp turned out great. Love a quick fix.

ReplyDeleteLove the makeover brandy. It looks so good;)
ReplyDeleteI think that brass/gold spray paint always wins. Years later I am still in love with most everything I have spray painted. Your lamp looks great.
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of "brass without it being too brassy." This is a very contemporary brass...and I really like it! It's a great makeover!
ReplyDeleteI like it, Brandi! It looks great on your green table!
ReplyDeleteUsually we are getting all the rain here near Seattle! Everything is backwards this year!

It looks amazing in the brass finish... so vintage! You did a fabulous job spray painting, I always struggle with doing it smoothly! Luckily I was successful on my last spray paint lamp redo. Thanks for visiting The Happy Housie - so glad to meet you!

ReplyDeleteI really like it! And I can't wait to get a look at the rest of the room!! That desk color next to those gorgeous curtains is just FAB!! I can already see you are doing a great job in there Brandi!
ReplyDeleteOoh... It looks great! I really love it on the green desk. Can't wait to see the finished room! (And... when it rains here, all I want to do is take a nap)
ReplyDeletei love it! i bought a spray to spray one of my lamps goldish but i haven't attempted it yet, i'm kind of intimidated!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Brandi! Very lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo much better Brandi! I love the color you used. I haven't done any spray painting updates yet, but I keep wanting to. I have two brass lamps in the storage room that need to come out of hiding and this would be the perfect fix! Oh, and I love the curtains in the photos. I'm so behind on my reading, you've probably already posted about them, so I'm off to see if I can find them. Hope you're having a great day Brandi!
