Paper Weaving

  
  As a kid I always enjoyed paper weaving.  Weaving patterns can be simple or more elaborate.

 
  I like to weave quilling strips.  I purchased a pack of quilling strips at Hobby Lobby for $3.29.

   Weave each paper strip over and under each thread. If the previous strip went under the thread, the following row will begin by going over the thread.  The pattern will resemble a checker board design.  Alternate colors of strips as you weave.  Continue weaving until the paper is full.  Trim the strips.



 
Once finished, I chose to display my project in a frame I purchased at the Dollar Store for my daughters room.

 
The pastel colors are perfect for Spring!

    That's so sweet, simply adorable! By the way I'm infatuated with that cute pink alarm clock too. Reminds me of one I had in my room when I was a little girl. :)

    That is so pretty, I've never heard of paper weaving but it looks hard lol. I know you say over and under but how do you keep all of pieces of paper from shifting? Then again, I just might be an air head...

    That is so pretty! I've started to do some yarn weaving and never thought of paper weaving. Gosh, this is so much easier than using a loom!! I'll be trying this sometime soon.

    Pretty and perfect for a girl's room!

    I used to make pot holders by weaving cotton loops on a loom when I was a child.

    Brandi that turned out so adorable! I love the colors and they are very springy and cheery! I bet there is something very soothing about weaving paper. I have only done it once and that was a long time ago but now you have my wheels turning my friend! :)

    Brandi that's what my Grandma did, quilling.
    She use to make flowers, fans, animals and all from quilling.
