hallway redesign

I've always wanted to try painting horizontal stripes, but I wasn't brave enough to tackle an entire room.  So with a little inspiration from Karla I decided to paint a small hallway leading into our laundry room as a place to display family photos.  With help from a friend, we added chair rail to the wall. I later painted the bottom half of the wall a much lighter color. This was a very tedious task, for someone like myself with very little patience! Needless to say I am very happy with the results.
I used Behr Paints for the hallway. For the bottom half of the wall I  used parchment paper. For the lighter stripes I used raffia cream and  the darker stripes are gobi desert. The color swatch # is 710c.

  4. That looks fabulous! I love the tone on tone look. I am currently working on horrizontal stripes in my baby's room. I only put up three and it took FOREVER to tape off. I feel your pain on the time that hallway must have taken. But it looks absolutely perfect. I just love it.

  11. I love this!!!! Girl I almost tried the striped thing but stopped myself. I've been thinking of trying again in either my laundry room or my master bathroom. Your hallway looks wonderful! Your colors are perfect, and if you've seen my painting projects we get painting so wrong so often.
