We've been slowly adding furniture and decor to our bedroom since converting our garage into a living space. One by one our bedroom is coming together.
As much as I love pretty things, how we function in the room is important too! Based on our needs we carved out a little space for sleeping, relaxing and eating. Eventually I want to add a desk for computer work.
We enjoy sitting here watching television or just talking. I love being able to sit here with my kids and hear about their day.
Since we no longer have a room for storage, it was important for us to create a spot to keep our home improvement things(paint cans, tools, etc). A window seat with storage solved our dilemma. I plan to cozy it up by adding more pillows and a seat cushion to create a reading nook.
We especially love our eating area. It's a nice place to have coffee in the morning while enjoying the peace and quiet.
I purchased a bookcase (Birch Lane) to display some of my favorite things.
Framed art, family pictures and decor books are just a few things I have on the shelves.
I'm constantly moving things around to get them just right. The bottom shelf has been hard for me. I'll figure it out. I'm up for the challenge! LOL!!
I'm taking my time choosing more artwork.
For the nightstands I kept things clean and simple.
A small dish for jewelry and my glasses. A candle and fresh flowers add in more color. My husband's side isn't as pretty!
So there you have it, our progress so far!! I'll continue to update you as our room takes shape.

Hi Brandi! I absolutely adore your beautiful retreat. I think it would be hard to leave this space and go to work, lol. Jane
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely space you have created! I love the soft colors. It is both beautiful and relaxing looking.
ReplyDeleteSmart move on taking the art work slowly. It seems when I have rushed just to have something on the wall I have picked things I just feel ho hum about. When I am not looking is when I find what I absolutely love.
It's beautiful Brandi! It's all coming together nicely. You have a great eye. The way you pull it all together is amazing. I love your couch, chairs and table. I'm so excited to follow along with you on this great project.
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful, Brandi! You have created a soft and serene space to relax and renew. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely home. I wouldn't want to leave anymore if that's how perfect my house is. :)
ReplyDeleteNot a speck of dust. How do you do that?? :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of this. Everything is so light and airy, uncluttered. Beautiful!
Such a perfect room, Brandi! It's obvious that you've carefully picked everything to be pretty and functional. Great job!

Brandi, your "garage bedroom" is nothing more than gorgeous. You certainly have an eye for decorating and making a space beautiful. Oh, and that storage window seat is genius. Perfection! I want to move in with you . . . now do I bring my husband or leave him at home, LOL.
ReplyDeleteAll kidding aside, you totally amazing me with your talent.
Have a lovely day.
Connie :)
It looks so cozy and like such a great escape after a long day! I love that you incorporated a little dining space for coffee and lounging with the kids. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic, Brandi!!! You've been so smart with storage solutions too. And I totally get it about the bottom shelf being hard to decorate. I ran into the same problem when we built our shelves for the living room. I took the easy way out and used a long narrow basket for the bottom shelf. Then I folded up a burlap coffee bean sack (that I purchased at our local coffee house for $2) inside it. :)
ReplyDeleteDear Brandi!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Absolutely wonderful :D
Wow Brandi!!!!!! It is stunning! Looks like you and hubby have a sweet little oasis in there! Love every detail! That sofa gets all the heart eyes! (if I were on my phone, lol)
ReplyDeleteComing together beautifully! My favorite part is that window seat area!
ReplyDeleteBrandi, the room is coming along nicely. I adore that dining area!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great space! After all the hard work you do, it's got to be such a joy to have a special place to retreat like the one you are creating. Love the lines, the color, the style, and elegance within the simplicity. Fabulousness!
ReplyDeleteOh wow..I do not even have a garage, let alone a garage bedroom LOL. But seriously, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is so amazing love how you were able to crave our several zones in your room for lounging & visiting!! I just love the entire room!!
ReplyDeleteThat garage-room is absolutely lovely. The colors you chose are so restful and peaceful. I love how you used the window seat to store things that need to be stored, and yet it looks so nice.
ReplyDeleteBrandi, your space is coming together so nicely! I love all the different zones, especially the window seat area!
ReplyDeleteIt is so chic, refreshing, warm & functional all rolled into one! Has that feel of home that's for sure. Absolutely LOVE the nooks you've carved out & the fabrics & textures. Are those Serena & Lily chairs in the breakfast nook? Perfection!!

ReplyDeleteOnce again I am just blown away your decor!! I was trying to find an earlier post where you talked about doing this... Is it your actual garage? Where you park your car? This is amazing!
