My Potting Bench

I've always wanted a potting bench; a designated place to store plants, soil and tools for my convenience.

I debated purchasing one, then remembered this old bench in the garage not being used.  It was the perfect size to work with, allowing for storage underneath.

No longer in love with my stencil pattern, I decided to cover it up!  Using my paint sprayer made it fast and easy.  I saved money by using leftover exterior paint to match our door.

The trellis compliments the look and adds more storage for tools.

Gardening tools were purchased on clearance at Crate and Barrel.  I found the trellis in the Garden Department at Home Depot.

I'm storing potting soil in a small-metal trash can with lid and scoop.

This metal basket is a great container for bug spray, fertilizer and flower seeds waiting to be planted.

During this time of year my yard can get messy and cluttered with all of my gardening projects.  It feels much better having a place to fill planters and store supplies.

The potting bench is a wonderful addition to my yard.  I saved money by transforming something that I already had.  I hope you're inspired to create your own!

  14. Your potting bench is very nice, Brandi. It looks a lot like the one my mother-in-law made years ago. Your flowers are pretty also. I am really enjoying my garden of roses, and am out there often pruning and weeding. I'm glad to see someone who loves their garden as I do. :~)

    Have a blessed day.
