It's been awhile since I shared my kitchen with you. Not much has changed, but I figured it was time to share what's new.
Ikea has all kinds of great home decor. I love these prints! I finished them off in Target frames.
My kitchen cabinets still bring me a lot of joy. I get a lot questions about them via email. We made a great decision to add moulding to the cabinets, since we could not afford to have them completely remodeled. Although we didn't attach the moulding ourselves, I can tell you that it's 2 inches wide, purchased from Home Depot and our friend used his nail gun. My husband and I painted the cabinets with white paint right off the shelf (Glidden) in an eggshell finish. We didn't apply a protective coat, as I was nervous about Polycrylic yellowing over time. But they have been easy to maintain over the years. They wipe off easily and I use leftover paint to touch up spots from normal wear and tear as needed.
I bought this used copper teakettle from the thrift store.
We store our commonly used utensils on the counter.
We only added hardware to our lower cabinets. The uppers have grooves underneath for easier opening and we just prefer the look!
I have been very happy with our natural fiber rugs. With 3 dogs they still look great. It's not recommended, but my husband cleans ours with our carpet cleaner.
My love for plants! Sadly my maidenhair fern didn't last too long.
Thank goodness for succulents!
Kitchen sign from Etsy!
I love ringing the bell at dinnertime!
There are few things I love more than our barn-door inspired cabinets.
Hope you enjoyed this quick tour through my kitchen!
It's a sweet kitchen, very clean and simple - I like that! I find that I am no good with live plants, so I buy fake ones from Michael's or wherever when they are on sale...cute tea kettle, too!
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen, Brandi. It's decorated beautifully and filled with so much charm and personality. Have a blessed day... :)
ReplyDeleteBrandi, I love your kitchen. So clean and simple. Not fussy. Love the prints you found at Ikea. I would have never guessed. They look like custom prints from Etsy. I am not the greatest with plants indoors either. The cabinets look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi, your kitchen looks so pretty. Love the cabinet doors and your prints. I'm no good with indoor plants, I think we don't get enough sun...I dont know but I've given up lol.It must be fun ringing that dinner bell, I need to get one of those. I would drive everybody nuts...ding a ling a ling all day errday for no good reason lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the X detail on cabinetry! Looking very good!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen so many pics of your kitchen and I LOVE it!!! You should post about it more often! And that bell!!! What a great idea! I totally could use one to round up my crew for dinner. :) Your cabinets are beautiful as well. Don't you love how bright and fresh white cabinets are? Y'all were so clever to add the extra moulding to the cabinets and I adore that copper tea kettle! You've got me swooning over this whole post!! :)
ReplyDeleteBrandi your kitchen is so cute...I would love to cook away the day in it!
ReplyDeleteLess is best. Mental note to copy the basket with plant on top of the fridge. A reason to visit Marshalls :)
ReplyDeleteBrandi
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for white cabinets too. They're so fresh and clean looking!
It's all so tidy and neat, Brandi.
Love it..

Your kitchen looks so pretty Brandi! I love live greenery too and the maidenhair fern is a favorite of mine but it doesn't last that long with me either:-(
ReplyDeleteI do love your kitchen! The art prints are great as well as the kitchen doors. Now, how do you keep it so clean! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt all looks beautiful! Love the light cabinets and the accents you have added.
ReplyDeleteLove the herb prints and that black table is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love those cabinets. They look so farmhousey. No, that's not a word, but I love all things farmhousie. No, still not a word. How about farmhouse-y. Anyway, you are a great decorated. Such clean lines and very classic.
ReplyDeleteLove the barn door cabinets. They look great as does your entire kitchen. Is there a post elsewhere that shows your step by step renovation of your cabinets? Am thinking of borrowing your idea if that's ok!
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi!! I love the stove top :) have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is beautiful! I love that you updated it yourself and you didn't spend a fortune. So inspiring Brandi! And your husband runs the carpet shampooer ... now THAT is impressive! Keep him for sure!
ReplyDeleteHave a Blessed day friend!
Lovely kitchen updates Brandi! I love Ikea for just about everything but your dinner bell is everything!!! I'm thinking I need one to ring as well...Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi, your kitchen is beautiful. I love the way you trimmed your cabinet doors, very clever, and the barn effect is so attractive and homey. Those prints are really pretty ,too. I'm not much at growing house plants, they have just never done well for me. If I have a plant in my house and it's green . . . it's silk, LOL. Otherwise it's brown and dead. I don't have that much problem with outside plants, just inside. There is one plant, you know that one that has a heart shaped leave and vines out everywhere . . . those I think anyone can grow.
ReplyDeleteHere's wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
P.S. I love your table and chairs:)
Yay for copper kettles in pretty kitchens:) Your kitchen looks so inviting Brandy. I just love it:)
ReplyDeleteLove the kitchen simple and classic at the same time not to much either because I have seen where people can go overboard
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi,
ReplyDeleteyou have a very comfortable kitchen
Hugs
Your kitchen is perfect, Brandi - so neat and tidy with the prettiest accents. I love your cabinets - they look great! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is beautiful. You actually paint the cabinets yourself, wow? How do you get the paint to be so smooth? I see that you don't line your gas burner with drip pan. How do you keep the stove top so clean then? I line mine and it's now time for me to buy new drip pans because I can't wash off the grease on my drip pans.
ReplyDeleteHey, Brandi, love your kitchen. It is so organised and neat, amd those prints from Ikea are so good. Also. I really like the black together with the green, it s so fresh!
ReplyDeleteI am too thinking of changing something in my kitchen, I wrote about it in my last post, I could use your input, thanks!

Just beautiful my friend.
Hugs and have a nice weekend.
Brandi, your kitchen exudes cozy and warmth. Beautiful and I love the decor!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely kitchen Brandi, I wish mine had white cabinets as well. I had a kitchen once that was black & white and I love it.
ReplyDeleteYours look fresh, clean, comfy and practical and I love it.
Brandi,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed looking at the pictures of your kitchen. It is very charming, and I love all the blue that you have here and there. The kitchen is my favorite place in the house, and when I moved into our new home, I knew it would suit me because it has a big kitchen. Your countertops are so pretty. Thanks for giving us a peek.
love,
~Sheri
Wow Brandi, love your kitchen and all the accessories. It must be a joy to work in. x
ReplyDeleteClean, organized, fresh, classic. This is my dream kitchen!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Brandi, I'm so jealous of your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteLove you kitchen! So clean and sleek. Sorry your maiden hair fern did not make it! they are kind of hard to grow unless it is in a very bright bathroom, where they can get the moisture (steam from shower) and bright indirect light. might I suggest arrowhead philodendron or even pothos will grow well in your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI love your eat in kitchen!! Such a pretty space and love that new artwork!
ReplyDeleteLove the tea kettle. Brandi this is the first time I have seen your kitchen. It is lovely and your cabinets look great.
ReplyDeleteI just love your kitchen. Your home décor style is perfection. And the bell is such a neat touch, I love that!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful kitchen. Love the teapot!
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi, Thanks so much for stopping by my new blog. I love your kitchen. The cabinets are unique and very stunning. I especially love your prints and the vignette on the wall with the bell is cute as can be. Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving. Mildred
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi! Your kitchen looks fab, love those prints from Ikea. Our Ikea is about 40 miles away near Pittsburgh so I don't get there very often but do order online!
