Hey Guys! I thought I'd pop in and give you an update on a few changes I've been making in the house. As the new year rolled in, I decided I was going to spend my spare time fixing up the place. I grew tired of the golden-yellow walls in the living/dining room and decided to paint them a fresh, neutral color.
After going through a few samples, I chose Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore- matched to Glidden Duo paint.
I love the new color so much! It's reading a bit darker in pictures, but it's a perfect gray/taupe combination.
I'm so excited to redecorate and I can't wait to share with you! But the process will be slow as I plan to take my time and think through my ideas.
I also gave a fresh-new look to our old-bathroom vanity.
I painted the walls, Flint Smoke by Behr paint.
It's amazing what a couple coats of paint can do. I love the way the hardware looks against the black vanity. I have a few accessories on the way, then I'll be back to show you the full reveal.
So what have you been up to this week? Any paint projects in your future?

Wow. I love it! I have Revere Pewter in my guest bed room. My motto has always been " a can of paint can change your life". I have to say that I love your pillow combo on your sofa! Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

Wonderful! I love these colors!
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed you got so much done! I had tons of time (and a half-painted room) and didn't get a thing done.
ReplyDeleteI love the bathroom vanity. It looks like you painted the hinges too. Did you use brush-on paint? It looks really nice and clean. I'm intrigued because I'd like to paint the hinges on some of my cabinets too.
Love the changes Brandy! And your pillows looks so beautiful and comfortable. Love how the patterns tie into your lovely wall color! I reupholstered some chairs recently with a fabric I'm so in love with right now, will share next week! Busy winter decorating too. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and your pillows look nice. I love the paint color.
ReplyDeleteLooking GOOD girl!
ReplyDeleteIt's all looking so good! More!More!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful changes. You always read how paint can make all the difference, especially when you get the color right - love the colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteThe colors look good! Can't wait to see more! I've been working on finally getting some pictures of our walls and a few painting projects :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new paint color! I especially like how the black paint looks on the vanity. The details in the cabinet now pop. Whatcha painting next?
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I will need to pick some paint colors soon... it is so hard to decide sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOh Brandi...those pictures of your home are amazing! I don't even know where to start. I love the pillows, the silver tray on the coffee table, the pictures on the walls, and that lamp! Oh, I just love that floor lamp!! I think you chose the perfect paint color. It looks wonderful! As you know, I've been painting too. We're going to do the kitchen and bedroom this weekend. I went with a lot lighter color too. I'm excited to see your painting reveal!

Love those colors Brandi...My daughter has been "playing" with gray/taupe since moving into her brand new house and she loves it!
ReplyDeleteYou have been quite the busy lady and it shows. I'm really liking that vanity. I can't wait to see how you make things pop!
I have done absolutely nothing in the decorating department. I did manage to finally organize my plastics in the kitchen and I'm working on a cabinet to give them a new home. We'll see how that goes. You're a doer and I'm a procrastinator, lol...Kudos to YOU!
Thank you so much for sharing...
looking good! I am in love with the vanity!! I so want to do our cabinets in our bathrooms! I have used that beige color too on a clients house and I agree it is the perfect neutral!!
ReplyDeleteLaura
Oh my goodness - I love both of these colors! It looks amazing Brandi!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Looking forward to seeing your finished room....your existing fabrics will be perfect. Jane
ReplyDeleteLOVE the changes Brandi!!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are on a roll. I so need to work my way through our house.
ReplyDeleteI love the changes although I did love the yellow I think when we move to our next home I will keep things neutral because I change things way to much
ReplyDeleteOf course.. I LOVE IT!!! Your house is magazine worthy! I am in the mood for some change myself ~ just don't know in which direction. : )
ReplyDeleteWow, Brandi!! That color looks fabulous, I was dying to get a glimpse of your sofa & pillows with it ~ I bet they're gorgeous!! Can't wait for what's next!
ReplyDeleteI love the changes, but I loved the yellow. We had that same color in the living room in our old home and after awhile I got tired of it so I feel you.
ReplyDeleteI have many paint projects ahead of me. I am currently in the laundry room and will be moving to the hallway when I'm done. Like you said I plan to take my time and completely finish the room before moving on to the next. I have awhile to go to finish the laundry room but I am thinking ahead.
Loooove those pillows and patterns. The neutral colour looks lovely on the walls and wow, what a change that Martha Stewart paint( matched to Behr) made in the bathroom. Yes, the hardware definitely pops! Looking forward to it all coming together.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite colors. I have it in my master bath and used to have it in a guest room.
ReplyDeleteBrandi, you're such a busy bee!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the reveal.
Looks great! Can't wait to see the full reveal :)
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom painted black really made the details show through. Blue and taupe are such soothing colors. You put all your decor components together very well. I just want to come hang out and sip some coffee and chat. :)
ReplyDeletehi! :)
ReplyDeleteI want to sit on your sofa ... looks so comfortable that I hear music I'll sleep!
You have creativity for decoration
Kisses
loving the changes too. can't wait to see the rest and how you accessorize it all too!
ReplyDeleteBrandy, Brandy, BRANDY!!!! I LOVE your ch-ch-changes!!! It's always so wonderful what a new coat of paint can accomplish! That vanity in the loo is GORGEOUS!!! I LOVE it!!! I would like to update those in our master bath and the upstairs guest bath, but I'm just not good with a paint brush. (Too impatient, for one.)
ReplyDeleteWe have a couple of paint jobs looming. We just got new windows in the kitchen and living room that are a far departure from the very traditional 9-panel windows we had. We're going to need to change the wall color to a creamy white to accommodate them. We were just discussing at breakfast this morning who to hire for the job. I pity whoever takes it on. They'll have all that PLUS the garage entry and 1/2 bath off the kitchen to tackle. Lots of tiny corners involved. The next paint job involves that master suite. That's going to be a REAL booger having to move all that furniture!!! Of course, once the living room & kitchen are done, I'm sure I'm going to want something different done with the front rooms and main hallway, too. Sigh! Never ending!
Congratulations on BEAUTIFUL colors and a great job all around! Have a terrific weekend!
I love the colors you've chosen. Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteOur entire downstairs is a lovely green I chose when we first bought our townhome 6 years ago. I think I want to go neutral as well, but it will be a huge undertaking. We hired painters the first time. This time I would have to do it myself. I'm off on Fridays 3 months in the summer. I could do it slowly while Hubby's at work and my son is at daycare... I don't know.
You are so talented Brandi, I'm amazed by your skills.
ReplyDeleteIf you have some spare time you should come to NYC and help us renovating our loft ;)
It looks so good! I feel the same way right now. Want to paint everything new. You chose the perfect new colors.
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing, so beautiful, very impressive.
ReplyDeleteLooking good Brandi! I know it's all going to be beautifuL The new vanity color looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, for your sweet comment. I am now following you. I was slow responding, because my computer was giving me trouble, but we worked on it, and it seems to be running better.
ReplyDeleteI love the before, and I can't wait to see the room with the new color on the wall.
Love the grey
ReplyDeleteI love the new colors Brandi. I can't wait to see the changes you make.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty changes, for sure! I think that the colors are so elegant! I am so eager to see more!
ReplyDeleteHi Brandi, I am always amazed at the difference a coat of paint can make. I recently repainted my kitchen from a medium gray to a pale aqua and then painted the white island a deep turquoise . . . instant (also instant) new kitchen :) paint is always a huge bang for the buck . . .gotta love it. Great post.
ReplyDeleteYour blogging sister, Connie
P.S. I'm having a Give-a-way come put your name in the hat.
Brandi, you have been one Busy Bee. It looks great can't wait to see the reveal. Have a Great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog!
ReplyDeleteLove the new colors! I want to repaint my whole house lately and Revere Pewter is one color I keep coming back to.
I love the colors you've chosen. You have the golden touch, that's for sure. I think I collect paint samples for the day I decide to tackle another set of walls. You make it look so easy! I definitely can't wait to see how you decorate your new space. :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the bold gold, what personality it gives the space! Very nice blog!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love how some fresh paint can't totally transform a space :-) My latest painting project was changing the colour in our hallway from a light grey to Sherwin Williams Exclusive Plum. Now I just want to stand in the hallway and stare at the pretty purple walls! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour spaces look so warm and cozy already. I love the before and the after. Your style is amazingly stunning. And you make paint choices and painting look so easy. Beautiful spaces!
