When the time came to select curtains for my laundry room, I had a tough time finding something that I liked. Everything was either too expensive or just not my style. Before leaving the store empty-handed, I decided to browse the bedding linens aisle. There, I found a sheet set in a pattern that I loved. I ended up sewing kitchen curtains out of the flat sheet before we updated our kitchen and decided to use the pillowcases for curtains in the laundry room. The pattern and colors were perfect and best of all, they were easy to hang and didn't involve any sewing!
The sheet set was a great price, quality brand sheets for only $20.
To hang the pillowcase on the curtain rod, I simply snipped off the top corners of each pillowcase. If you like you could add a little fray check to the edges.
To keep the raw edge from being visible, I tucked it in before hanging the pillowcase on the rod.

I'm so happy with the results. The pillowcase fit the window perfectly.
Simple and inexpensive!
Now that's a neat idea I was thinking of doing something similiar to my window seat you have given me an idea.
ReplyDeleteYup, if the desire is they one can make anything happen...even curtains! My mom used to always say; nececity if the mother of invention! ;)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful it looks! Great pattern and great find!
ReplyDeleteMy dining room chairs are covered in a fabric shower curtain that I got on ebay. I wanted a certain pattern and color and just couldn't find it anywhere. The shower curtain worked perfectly.
I know this post is about the curtains but the pots spelling out HOME are adorable!

ReplyDeleteI love this! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove your curtains! I have 2 daughters and they always want different bedding.... first Dora the Explorer, then Disney Princesses, then Hannah Montana, then....
ReplyDeleteI typically buy them "bed in a bag" sets and use the printed sheets to make curtains (keeping plain colored sheets on their beds). It's a lot less expensive than buying coordinating curtains. However, mine all involved sewing and I *love* that your version didn't. Bookmarking this for next time they "need" new bedding!
Great idea! I wanted a half or three quarter curtain in my laundry area to let the sun shine in. I'm going to look at thrift stores for vintage pillowcase sets. Thanks for sharing1
